Erinvale Country Estate & Golf Club is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2020 in a particularly unique and artistic way by exhibiting 40 magnificent sculptures by renowned Cape Town artist Anton Smit in and around the clubhouse, a treat for club members and visiting golfers.

The varied range of sculptures form a perfect symbiosis with the surrounding landscape. Erinvale, home to a diverse community from various parts of the world, sits on the lower slopes of the Helderberg mountain range, with views over towards False Bay.
The exhibition at the Erinvale estate in Somerset West began on January 25 with an opening soirée for home owners, club members, hotel guests and friends, and can be viewed until May.

Exhibition curator Kerstin Dinklage says: “Anton Smit’s awesome sculptures are turning Erinvale into a place with a different atmosphere, into something special. They let Erinvale shine even more, and in return the pristine landscape gives Anton’s sculptures the ideal exposure and background to look at their best.”
Since its launch in 1995, Erinvale has established itself among the country’s leading golf estates with a premium lifestyle. It has more than 400 homes, a Gary Player course, and a clubhouse with outstanding facilities. There is a hotel outside the entrance to the estate.

Smit’s artistic break-through was in 1977 and his sculptures have been exhibited across South Africa, the US, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium and the UK.
