The first golfer to report playing all 100 was Prince’s Grant resident Mike Edwards in 2005. It took him four years. Interestingly, 24 of the courses he played are not part of the current 100.

Rulene Visagie from Pretoria in 2007 was the first female to complete what she called her “dream.” “I have an album full of memories; scorecards reflecting the good and the bad of golf and precious moments shared with friends and family,” she said.

Heinrich du Preez, a Pretoria golf nut who loves seeking unusual records in golf, played all 100 in just 80 days in 2008. Dave da Silva (Randpark) in 2008 had played every course that had been in every Top 100 until then. Pieter Verster (Irene) had an unusual quest while playing all 100, he only ticked it off once he managed to break 80. Stefan Roodt (Benoni) played 50 in 60 days in 2017 and reduced his handicap from 18 to 12 along the way. Has he finished playing them all?
