Caught Wedgewood on a cold and windy day which made it all the more challenging. The front nine lines up one difficult hole after another. The shorter back nine offers some respite, yet trouble lurks left on the tee shot of the terrific downhill tenth, and also what I think is the course’s signature hole, the 13th. I remember this being the short par-4 16th on the old Wedgwood layout, and its strength lies in the danger from tee to green, first of all the long carry to what looks a narrow fairway, then the approach shot to a raised green fronted by a stream. Two excellently designed par 3s at 12 and 14 also demand your full attention.
