Vernon Waters continues to do an amazing job with the greens at Wedgewood. They are outstanding and make chipping and putting a joy. The course itself is fun to play and has some memorable holes on the hilly back nine. The stretch from 10 to 14 is terrific. Even though they comprise three short par 4s and two par 3s they are not easy and only reward the best of shots. The 13th is 317 metres from the back, yet it’s a tiger into the westerly wind, with a narrow fairway and stream fronting the green. The 398-metre 16th is one of the best par 4s in the country, slightly downhill to a fabulously devious green, which has a stream running along its right edge.
