A course I could play regularly for its general playability and smooth rolling greens. However, it does have an odd mix of very good holes and more than a few ordinary ones. The back nine impressed me until I reached 17 and 18 which looked a bad fit. Attractively designed greens in keeping with the rest of the course, but unimaginative holes to conclude a round. 18 is a messy par 5 where you can’t see what’s happening ahead and might have been better as a par 3 played over the deep ravine between green and fairway. Hard to fathom why the clubhouse was built away from the ninth and 18th greens and the first tee in between. Big opportunity missed by the estate developers. How spectacular would a double-storey clubhouse have looked like as the backdrop to these finishing holes and what a view for everyone on an upstairs deck. The club would have quadrupled its bar takings.
