The most notable thing at Steenberg the last six months has been a dramatic intervention to stop the encroachment of poa on the four par 3s. Its eradication was undertaken by stripping the affected areas and replanting new turf from tee to green. The grow-in has taken longer than expected and these holes are therefore not to the same standard as others. Otherwise, the course is well-presented. Greens and surrounds are a delight, true and firm and a pleasure to putt on. The bunkers remain the only aspect not top-notch. A vastly improved course since slipping down the rankings 10 years ago after losing the greens. Remains a destination course in Cape Town as reflected by the many international visitors.
