You don’t realise it when you arrive at the clubhouse, but Selborne traverses some hilly terrain typical of the Upper South Coast of KZN. So you encounter a variety of unusual holes that have been designed to fit the undulating landscape, particularly on the front nine. The course tests you with downhill, uphill and sidehill lies, plus an array of hazards and some sloping quick greens. It’s an attractive walk in a scenic, parklike setting, although most golfers these days use carts to get around.
