I play this South Coast course as often as is allowable with the increasingly punitive travel costs, and in all conditions. The envelope of the best & worst condition is narrow (consistent).
The only “consistency” threat (like most KZN courses) is that the greens next to water (par-3 sixth) react differently to others. Selborne will accumulate your “favourite hole” tally so it’s easier to list my “non-favourites,” the par-5s No 3 and No 12, and the uphill par-4 ninth. The Sunshine Tour visit Selborne for good reason. It ticks all the evaluation criteria for shot-making, memorability, design and conditioning. The layout is reminiscent of classical layouts such as Victoria, George, Prince’s Grant and Wild Coast.
