Reading is a great par 71 parkland layout, fun to play, and in excellent shape. Greens running true and neat overall presentation. The opening holes on each nine, par 4s, are two of the strongest you will play in Gauteng. The first requires accuracy through an alleyway of tall trees and a true test in a medal round. The tenth is a brute, and justifiably stroke 1. Nos 5 & 7 are beautiful par 3s in a solid loop of the course. No 8 is a short 5 by modern standards provided the tee shot avoids the trees lining the fairway. There are 11 varied par 4s to test the long and short game. Good value on a weekday when the course is quiet.
