The overall experience at Mossel Bay has improved quite remarkably in recent years. This club is a model for many others on how to properly upgrade all the clubhouse and course facilities important to members and visitors without stretching the budget too far. The course conditioning has also attained a high standard of consistency. And this at one of the busiest courses in South Africa. In fact, this western side of the Garden Route is probably going to need another moderate green fee course before too long to cater for a steadily growing golfing population in the area. The Mossel Bay layout is an interesting challenge because of the importance of hitting tricky greens in the right place. Fun if you’re playing well, frustrating otherwise. But always an enjoyable walk, coupled with stunning ocean views. Upstairs 19th is impressive.
