With its abundant bushveld trees, wildlife, tranquil countryside, and Magaliesberg backdrop, this is a most attractive and pleasant course to play. Being so short, and with so many fun holes, it could be labelled the “Southbroom of the North.” Without the wind! Several greens, with undulations and tiers, will test the putting skills of the best, yet they are part of the character of the design, which is on the quirky side (back-to-back par 3s at 8 and 9). And there are numerous flat greens too. Magalies Park has some distinctive holes, Nos 3, 7, 12, 13 and 15, which has an unusual green site for a downhill par 5. No 14 is a superb par 3 yet the green is unfair. A recovery from the back bunker often sees the ball roll into the water hazard fronting the green.
