Kingswood was in relatively good condition. Greens smooth and providing a good putting surface although there is plenty of nap. Fairways well grassed and consistent. Bunkers are another story. They are far too severe, especially fairway bunkers where you are penalised immediately you find one. The only escape route is sideways or forward with a sand wedge. Those on the par-3 18th are the worst. Other than the bunkers I enjoyed the layout, but this would not be my ideal course to play. While I appreciate the fact that the bunkers are the course’s main form of defence, they could at least have made exceptions on most holes and made them less severe.
