The Humewood links is as superbly presented as it has ever been. I enjoy the way the practice putting green in front of the clubhouse flows seamlessly and naturally into the undulating surrounds of the adjacent 18th green, creating a most attractive look to the closing hole. Played in a stiff westerly wind, and the front nine is a tiger in those conditions, with four of the most demanding par 4s (2, 4, 5 and 8) played into the wind. The back nine is easier, but the course is an excellent challenge whether you’re into the wind or downwind. The winning score in a recent Sunshine Tour event was five-under 211 for 54 holes.
