Ebotse’s links-style course is fun to play and a welcome change from tree-lined fairways, with interesting design and shot options. Par 3s a highlight with varied approaches and elevations. The eighth (137 from white) is a clever and attractive short 3 with the Rynfield dam as a backdrop. The 150m downhill 11th plays two to three clubs less than its distance. Risk-reward is a frequent theme at Ebotse, No 13 (short 4) a good example with its narrow fairway between dunes and dam. The greens roll well throughout the year, making Ebotse a good winter venue. Weekday cart-inclusive green fee specials add to the attraction.
