Devonvale on a sunny day is sparkling at this time of year, and the course is playing exceptionally well. The greens are in magnificent condition and putts run superbly. Fairways are well covered. After all the winter rains the dams on the course are nearly all full, adding to the beautiful aesthetics of this Winelands property. The large water hazard which is a feature of the par-5 17th is the fullest it has ever been (I’ve seen how deep it is when dry), and contributes to the attractiveness and challenge of this well-designed dogleg hole where a long drive can put golfers in reach of the green for their second shot. Devonvale offers excellent winter rates of R300 for visitors.
