What a beaut! Felt like I was taking a stroll through an English park. As good a parkland layout as one can find in KZN. The routing is fantastic through the best parts of the property. Even the scenic drive from the entrance gate to clubhouse must be the best in SA! Definitely the best 9-holer I have played. Greenkeeper Kesley Hansen and his team are doing a good job. After a long chat to him, one can see he is passionate about his slice of paradise. I played on a quiet Monday morning and had the course to myself. After the opening two holes I thought I was in for a low score but how wrong I was as the difficulty factor picked up quickly. There was an unusually strong wind, making the long par 4s even longer. A Bob Grimsdell design, but I couldn’t spot any of the design styles usually noticeable at his other courses. I would have liked to have played the course before its redesign. Yet Sean Quinn/Golf Data have done a fantastic renovation. Bosch Hoek has a balance of risk versus reward, the greens have good shape, and playing from the fairway is paramount.
