Conditioning of Blair Atholl was excellent, given late May. No preferred lies and greens ran true. I enjoyed the structure of the five par 3s with No 8 my favourite from its high tee over the river to the green. Many great holes moulded naturally into the landscape. The halfway house occupies a special position on the river’s edge, and I liked the buffet offering. The caddies-cum-spotters were knowledgeable and helped us navigate the course. Blair Atholl lived up to my expectations.
