Fancourt and Sun City, the two most popular golf resort experiences in Africa, are re-opening next week on September 1 for resort guests.
Fancourt are offering two attractive packages for golfers, one of which includes tee times at South Africa’s No 1 course, The Links. It is an opportunity to play three of the best golf resort courses in the Southern Hemisphere, all in one place.
The current policy at Fancourt going into September is that only residents and hotel guests are being allowed on the golf courses. No day visitors have playing rights.
The Fancourt Bucket List package includes 3 rounds and a 3-night stay at the hotel (breakfast included) for R5 400 per person sharing. It is valid for South African residents only until November 15. One round is at The Links, and the other two can be played on either of the Montagu or Outeniqua courses. The Montagu is ranked No 8 and the Outeniqua No 14 in the country. Guests wishing to make a reservation must quote BUCKET.
Fancourt are again promoting their annual Tee Off In Paradise package. Normally only available during the winter months, it is on offer through to December 10.
The rate is R1 740 per person per night sharing (with a minimum 2-night stay including breakfast) and includes a round of golf each day on either the Montagu or Outeniqua courses, or a Spa voucher to the value of R590, or dinner voucher to the value of R345. Again valid for SA residents only. Guests wishing to make a reservation must quote TOIP20.

Sun City will be re-opening the Lost City Course on Wednesday, September 2, for the first time since lockdown at the end of March. The Pilanesberg resort has been closed to guests since then. However, the Gary Player Country Club, ranked No 3 in South Africa, will only be re-opening on Sunday, September 20. The delay is due to the fact that hollowtining is currently taking place, after which the greens will need sufficient time to recover.
