I thoroughly enjoyed returning to Waterkloof after many years and it is well worth a visit. Each par 4 and 5 allowed me to hit driver and at around 250m from club tees one would use a variety of medium to short irons thereafter. Greens require considered examination to determine slopes that seem at first inconspicuous. With a quick green speed it can easily result in a 3-putt. The course is straight forward with few gimmicks, well laid out and in great condition. Fairways excellent, well defined with rough that is neat and reasonably playable. The layout of the par 3s is as good as any and they are visually excellent.
Firm, dark sand bunkers may not appeal to everyone, but they are consistent. Service throughout the club is first class and facilities cannot be faulted.
