Good to see Wanderers bouncing back after prolonged heat in Gauteng. Fun layout with a good blend of risk-reward off the tee. Holes 2 to 5 are an interesting mix of par 4s protected by mature trees. Fairways and greens typically consistent. Well-struck putts will have a good roll. One par 3 on the front nine (6), then 12-15-17 challenge you on the back. The large green at 17 (water right) has one of the most testing putting surfaces. The closing uphill 4 (stroke 2) is strong with a well-guarded green. Selected tee boxes are a touch worn from heavy summer traffic, and perhaps there is a need for more alternative tees. The 19th service is much improved.
