This 9-holer impresses me. The “Little Walmer” hierarchy are continuously finding ways to improve the course and clubhouse facilities. The restaurant (new addition to complement the bar and breakfast areas) is a big drawcard. The club boasts the biggest membership in Gqeberha. Tee boxes need work, while conditioning is a problem with a general lack of irrigation water. Despite this, WGC have made good use of limited resources. The signature par 3, No 6/15, shows how well water has been put to use on the course. A sneaky short 3, finding the green only accomplishes part of your mission. The green has some deceptive humps and hollows. It’s followed by back-to-back 5s which give golfers a chance to claw back some respect before the Stroke 1 par-4 18th. Greens in a respectable condition and run at medium pace.
