Victoria is an outstanding Bob Grimsdell gem. Design variety is superb, with varied shot shapes required and risk-reward a recurring theme. Several par 4 greens are reachable off the tee for the long hitter, but danger lurks with well-placed bunkers, water hazards and severe runoff areas. The low stroke holes remain a true test with narrow landing areas and sloping greens. The 12th (stroke 1) is one of the most challenging par-4s you will play. The back nine from 13 to 18 includes a great set of 3s (13-17), 4s (14 to 16) and a finishing 5 (18). No 14 is uphill to a raised green and a beautiful green complex, an excellent hole which stoutly defends par. The finish at 17 (short 3) and 18 (medium 5) makes for a fun finish and fitting end to a great day out. The service and 19th hole are both good: the patio has a great setting. Victoria is well worth visiting.
