Course was very wet for a while after heavy rain, and repair work on the par-3 ninth cart path and bridge meant forward tees in play, but The Woods is back to playing normally again, if still a bit long due to the fairways and rough being so lush. With the fifth hole shortened to a par 3 the empty space between fourth green and fifth tee has allowed for an attractive and useful practice area for residents where you can hit shorter iron shots and pitches. However, being narrow, numbers are limited. Course is enjoyable to play for a wide range of golfers, yet it’s never easy. The clubhouse bar has been extended in size, and the facilities at MECC are excellent.
