Golf in St Francis Bay is often associated with prestigious St Francis Links. However, within close proximity is this gem of a course worth a visit in its own right. It’s in good condition year round and at present the greens are especially good. Strong winds can turn it into a beast, especially the stretch on the back nine near the ocean. It’s a thinking course and choice of club from the tee, as well as ensuring your angles of approach are correct, is important to good scoring. One area that could be improved is the demarcation of fairway to rough. It isn’t easy to distinguish, and visitors would find a few extra directional poles useful. Some tee boxes are uneven while maintenance takes place. A fun course to play and it caters well for different levels. Good reception area, pro shop, and catering facilities with some tasty halfway house treats.
