San Lameer on a good day with light winds is a pleasure, relatively short too with five par 4s between 281 and 321 metres (white tees) — the back nine is only 2785 metres. But in a stronger wind, as we found when the breeze began puffing, it’s demanding and all about accuracy and avoiding water hazards. Many visitors aren’t aware of the 9-hole mashie course (it borders the seventh green) which is a fun challenge and well looked after. It has been given a Course Rating so golfers can enter their scores on HNA.
