We were reduced to two golfers during a busy holiday season, but the Friday pace of play at Ruimsig was nevertheless enjoyable. We seldom waited. It’s a course with wide fairways where everything flows quickly from the first hole (it was a one-tee start). By the time we reached the first par 3 (No 5) the field was spreading out. Some fairway bunkers still had water in them from the rain, which meant two lost balls in the puddles, yet the beautiful greens did compensate. Slower than usual, yet wonderfully true putting surfaces. General presentation of the course is a weakness, but not all clubs have the budget to focus on that area. Ruimsig is extremely good value for visitors and members. They have a new fleet of carts with GPS screens which enhances the experience.
