Four days of continuous rain in Gauteng has meant the cancellation of the Sunshine Tour’s Hyundai Open, meant to tee off tomorrow. It would have been the first full-field pro tournament on the East Course since the 2017 Joburg Open. That tournament, also played in the second half of February, was plagued by rain and shortened to 54 holes. Unfortunately, the East’s low-lying holes such as 6-7-11 become easily waterlogged after a lot of rain, and thus unplayable.
