Bushwillow has long been a favourite for its playability and parkland charm, and good to see a big improvement in the condition of the greens which enhances the overall playing experience. They’re rolling more consistently and truer. That said, the course isn’t without its issues. Bushwillow has been damaged by recent flooding. Some areas have recovered but others still show the scars. Fairways will need time to recover. Attention to detail seems “hit and miss.” Inconsistent tee box conditioning, patchy rough, and general maintenance around the edges taking away from what could be a well-presented and enjoyable course. I especially like The Gauntlet finishing holes (par-3 15, par-4 16, par-5 17), each demanding precision shots. Bushwillow offers a solid 18, especially for those who appreciate its traditional design and enjoy a strategic test. Hopefully winter will bring drier conditions and enhanced playability.
