PE Golf Club has seen substantial improvements to both the course and clubhouse in recent years, and the latest project beginning later this month will be the installation of a high ClearVu fence around the entire property. The tree-lined course, with its numerous access points from the surrounding suburbs, has long been viewed as a public park by local residents. Golfers have co-existed for years with walkers and cyclists, who have their own trails, but recently there has been criminal vandalism and theft of golf club property, while some members of the public have begun gathering in large groups on fairways and around greens, showing no respect for golfers, who have the main right of way, and endangering themselves. A security fence was seen as the only solution by club management. The public will still be allowed access to walk their dogs, run and cycle, but everyone will have to enter through the main gate once the fencing is complete.
