This is one of the most exacting courses in the Garden Route, and also one with a rich variety of different holes. The par 3s are as challenging a quartet as you will find anywhere, and that includes the short 11th (102 to 122) where just finding the tiny green feels satisfying. Plett rewards straight shots and can be unkind to those who stray off line. There are several testing greens complexes and pin positions which require a deft touch. And a host of hazards all the way round. Ponds, streams and wetlands abound, while the indigenous bush lines most fairways. Good to see the club removing alien vegetation, especially in areas which will improve the water flow. Greens looked pale and dry yet were consistent. Construction is taking place in the clubhouse, with the pro shop due to move from the front of the building to the back, underneath the locker rooms.
