Parkview is one of Joburg’s most enjoyable layouts to play. In superb condition with outstanding fairways. The course’s defence is well-guarded greens and the deep storm water sluit through the middle of the property. Landing areas narrow and demanding. The 4s offer good design variety and a strong dose of risk-reward. No 12 is drivable for the long hitter, but trouble lurks with a well-placed bunker short of the green. Back-to-back 5s at 13-14 are generally a good scoring opportunity, but any score from 3 to 7 can happen. The beautiful 15th is a superb 3 with water in front. The finishing stretch is three varied 4s, a perfect end to a great walk while enjoying the “Bobby Locke Experience.” Parkview service is excellent and upgrades to halfway house and locker rooms have been well received.
