Olivewood is set on undulating terrain with superb aesthetics. A challenge to play in the wind, with pot bunkers integral to the defence of par. Their riveted faces can be penal. Excellent design variety with shorter 4s and demanding changes of elevation. Par 3s are interesting with 15 and 17 the best two, with sloping greens. The 5s are short but can be brutal into the wind. The downhill eighth is narrow and the fairway is running in current firm conditions. Birdie and double bogey are in play here. Olivewood is a welcome addition to golf in this region and represents good value on a weekday. Course is maturing and playability has been improved around the more sloping fairways with cutting back of grass and undergrowth. Service and the 19th hole are excellent, with a restaurant on site.
