May is into the dry season in North West Province, and it was obvious that Lost City was not in the best condition. There was work (looked like irrigation lines) being done on and adjacent to almost all fairways, which affected play. Greens slower than expected but had recovered from hollowtining a few weeks earlier. Fairways and tees not in good condition and the bush lurks for anything slightly offline. The hard conditions and random bounces resulted in good shots ending up lost in the first foot or so of dense bush. Lost City has several blind shots which makes it challenging for players unfamiliar with the layout to play without caddies. Carts are mandatory. Halfway refreshments included in green fee. Delicious food.
