Humewood is a pure links and iconic golfing experience rich in history. The white clubhouse with its red roof has a classic and traditional feel. The coastal weather not only influences the playing conditions but the condition of the course. Fairways are firm and the natural rough unforgiving in locations. The design places a premium on shot making and creativity, as the wide fairways often require shaping shots to account for the ever-present wind. Greens are beautiful and running as fast as they can given the wind to ensure they remain playable. There are two predominant wind directions, so Humewood has an “East” course (into the wind on No 1) and “West” course (three of the par 5s play downwind).
