Hermanus has had many projects on the go in recent years and the golf experience keeps improving with every passing season. There is a new irrigation system in place, bunkers have been redone to improve playability, teeing areas increased in size on the six par 3 holes, and continuous landscaping of the 27-hole property is firmly focused upon the preservation of the natural environment. Dams have been enlarged and beautified, and there is now an attractive flow of larger pools down the right side of the two closing holes on the East Course, the par-5 17th and short par-4 18th. This waterway enhances both the aesthetics and challenge of these holes. The exceptional maintenance of all 27 holes is a feature of playing here. Two new projects on the go, which will be completed for the holiday season, are the construction of both a Starter’s centre close to the halfway house to monitor the opening tees of each of the three nines, plus a new building at the range to replace the old wooden shed.
