Woodmead is a premier parkland layout, currently in excellent condition. Greens running beautifully and fast, a test of putting skill. Two standout par 4s are the formidable fifth, stroke 1, requiring precision and strategy off the tee, and uphill dogleg right seventh, stroke 3 with a demanding approach. The tee shot is played over the dreaded “gobbler” bush guarding the right side of the fairway. The par 3s deserve special mention, each offering a unique challenge with eye-catching aesthetics and well-protected greens. An extensive bunker renovation project is underway, aimed at improving drainage and upgrading sand quality. Woodmead combines challenge and charm in a scenic, well-maintained setting.
