Work has begun at Bryanston on a new irrigation system being tackled one hole at a time, due for completion end November. Major capital expenditure, and numerous golf clubs are facing this kind of upgrade with the gradual deterioration of ancient systems. Work is currently taking place on No 2, with ditches criss-crossing the fairway closest to the green, but the beauty of the upgrade is that it will not disrupt play, although there will be scarring. Work on a hole is finished before moving on to the next one.
